On the occasion of the forthcoming 50th anniversary of the Leuenberg Agreement an anthology with essays and lectures by the long-time study secretary of CPCE, Prof. Dr Martin Friedrich, has just been published. The topics of the contributions range from the history of Protestantism in Europe in the 16th to 19th centuries, the prehistory, history and ongoing work of the CPCE to Protestant contributions to the current ecumenical dialogue. The book was presented in the presence of the author, who celebrated his 65th birthday at the end of October, and numerous companions in the Evangelical Centre Vienna. Former Bishop Dr Michael Bünker, who as CPCE General Secretary was Martin Friedrich's superior until 2018, paid tribute to his theological and above all ecumenical work, the latter especially in connection with the Anglican Church and the European Baptist Federation. The book, which is bilingual throughout, was published by Evangelische Verlagsanstalt Leipzig and is now available in bookshops and in the CPCE web shop. |
