Regional Group North West Europe about Church in Rural Areas

From 29 to 31 March representatives of the CPCE churches from the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Denmark and Germany met in Altenkirchen (Rhineland) and discussed the future of "Churches in rural areas".

Understanding a country scarred by war is a challenge for the whole of Europe. So also for the CPCE. In order to be able to better grasp the situation on the ground, but also to set a sign of solidarity, Stefan Cosoroaba from the head office paid a visit to the German Evangelical-Lutheran Church in Odessa.

The real cost of a better life

“Euro-orphan” is a quite new name for a phenomenon which exists for decades. It describes those children, who are left behind because one or both of their parents move to Western-European countries for a better salary, for work, for a dream, or a better life.

Young theologians reflect on Protestantism and participation. Under the title Taking Responsibility - Giving Hope - Being Visible, a conference took place in Sibiu.

From 19 to 21 April 2023 the third meeting of a dialogue between the Pontifical Dicastery for Promoting Christian Unity and the Communion of Protestant Churches in Europe took place in Paris.

Farewell to Rev. Kathleen Müller

For one year Kathleen Müller worked as a special assistant in the head office. Among other things she was responsible for the CPCE women's network meeting under the title "Empowering Ordained Women" and for the “Young Theologians in Communion” as well as for a publication project. Now Kathleen Müller has become a pastor in Braunschweig and was ordained there in April. Congratulations!

New in the Head office

Two new staff members support the team at the Head office. Magdalena Bruckmüller, MA is primarily responsible for publication projects and Maria Heidecker, BA is responsible for administrative tasks.
