The CPCE General Assembly is a public event. We therefore invite representatives of church and secular media, as well as freelance journalists, to participate in person or digitally. The prerequisite for this is accreditation. Details can be found by clicking the link below.

The CPCE was recognised as an international NGO with participatory status at the Council of Europe in 2023. From 8-10 April 2024, the General Assembly of the Conference of INGOs (CINGO) met in Strasbourg and elected the governing bodies. The Committee for Interreligious and Interconvictional Dialogue, in which the CPCE is actively involved, was also confirmed. The work at the Council of Europe is carried out by the CPCE regional group "Conference of Churches on the Rhine".

Frank-Dieter Fischbach has been appointed the new General Secretary of the Conference of European Churches (CEC). Fischbach is very familiar with the work of CEC, as he already worked for several years on behalf of the CPCE as executive secretary at CEC in Brussels. CPCE General Secretary Mario Fischer conveyed his warm congratulations to his new colleague and looks forward to a good working relationship.

Representatives of all four CPCE Regional Groups came together from March 13-15, 2024 in Prague for a conference full of fruitful discussion, thought-provoking presentations, and the sharing in a worship service and celebration of the Lord’s Supper. Hosted by the Czechoslovak Hussite Church, the conference was the first of its kind, bringing together all of these regional representatives, as well as members of the Young Theologians in Communion group and the Advisory Board on Ethics, in the same room to discuss the work of the Southeast Europe Regional Group on the topic of Church and Democracy.

For their final meeting, the Young Theologians in Communion of the CPCE met for a study conference to produce a message for the General Assembly, provide feedback and advice for the next group of CPCE Young Theologians, and learn more about CPCE’s ecumenical dialogues and the situation of the churches in Estonia. The conference featured visits with Archbishop Urmas Viilma and other notable church figures.
